Winter Shield - Blanket Donation

"Winter Shield, a flagship blanket donation drive, was organized by the Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar on 13th December 2025 at KR Market and Majestic, with the aim of supporting the homeless during the cold winter nights. The initiative reflected one of the core purposes of Rotaract, serving the community with compassion, responsibility, and a strong sense of social commitment. Members of the club actively contributed monetary donations towards the cause, making the initiative truly member-driven.

The drive was opened for collaboration with other Rotaract clubs across Bengaluru, bringing together the Rotaract Club of Bengaluru United, Rotaract Club of Aagneya, Rotaract Club of Bangalore Southwest, Rotaract Club of MCC, Rotaract Club of HSR, Rotaract Club of Orchards, and Rotaract Club of Bangalore Highgrounds. The Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar secured 74 blankets through member contributions, while the Rotaract Club of MCC contributed 15 blankets. In total, 68 blankets were distributed on the ground during the drive, reaching several individuals in need across the city.

The distribution began at KR Market Circle around 11:00 PM, where the team split into groups to efficiently cover different areas. Rotaractors personally handed over blankets to individuals sleeping on footpaths, near shops, and in market corners, ensuring warmth and comfort through the night. After covering KR Market, the team proceeded to Majestic to continue the distribution and extend support to more people.

Close to 20 blankets remain and will be distributed in the coming days, ensuring the initiative’s impact continues. Winter Shield stood as a meaningful reflection of the spirit of Rotaract, highlighting the power of community service, collaboration, and collective action in bringing warmth, dignity, and hope to those in need."
