"The Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar joined hands with R.I. District 3191 and Youth for Parivarthan for “The Bengaluru Makeover 2.0” on 15th March at Rajajinagar. The initiative was undertaken with the objective of transforming public spaces by making the streets cleaner, more vibrant, and visually appealing, while also creating awareness about community responsibility and civic pride. It also served as a strong public image initiative, showcasing Rotaract’s active involvement in urban beautification and social impact.
The day began with a briefing on the plan and execution of the activity, after which volunteers started by scraping the walls to prepare the surface for painting. This was followed by applying a base coat across a 200-meter stretch of wall. Once the base painting phase was completed, lunch was provided to all volunteers, offering a refreshing break before continuing the activity. Post lunch, teams moved on to sketching detailed mandala designs and portraits of notable personalities from Karnataka. Volunteers then painted these sketches with vibrant colours, along with incorporating logos of Youth for Parivarthan and Rotaract, making the wall both artistic and meaningful.
Volunteers were grouped into mixed teams with members from different clubs, creating a great platform for interaction, teamwork, and bonding beyond individual clubs. The activity was carried out in an energetic and collaborative environment, allowing participants to connect while contributing to a shared cause.
Overall, The Bengaluru Makeover was a fulfilling and impactful experience that combined service, creativity, and teamwork. It enhanced the visual appeal of the locality while strengthening inter-club connections, truly reflecting the spirit of Rotaract through collective action and community-driven change."
