INTERNATIONAL SERVICE

"Steps of Service was an initiative undertaken by the Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar from 1st January to 31st January, with the objective of promoting physical fitness among members while simultaneously creating social impact. The project encouraged participants to set daily walking goals and complete step-based challenges over the month, with participation extending beyond the club as members from other Rotaract districts also joined the initiative, making it a collaborative and inclusive effort.

Members tracked their daily steps using the Impact App, where accumulated steps were converted into a monetary value. These funds were directed toward meaningful global causes such as climate research initiatives, including efforts that support the use of reflective glass beads over key portions of the Arctic to reduce ice melt, as well as projects contributing to hospital construction and healthcare development. This model transformed a simple daily activity like walking into a purposeful act of service.

The initiative successfully fostered self-discipline, healthy lifestyle habits, and awareness of physical well-being among participants. It also reinforced the belief that small, consistent individual actions, when combined across clubs and districts, can create significant social impact. Steps of Service created value at both personal and community levels, making it a sustainable and innovative service initiative."
