On the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava and served as a cultural celebration
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE

"Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar had the wonderful opportunity to host delegates from RI District 3160 as part of Nodi Namma Ooru 2.0, organised by RI District 3191. Our guests were Rtr. Bhavitha, Rtr. Deepika, Rtr. Eliyas, and Rtr. Kausik, and they stayed with us from October 31st to November 2nd. The entire experience was filled with hospitality, culture, food, laughter, and moments we will remember forever.
Day 1 of the RIDE, We began by picking up our delegates and taking them to Namma Filter Cafe for a classic Bengaluru-style welcome. In a funny twist, Rtr. Kausik asked for Horlicks at a pure filter coffee place and instantly earned himself the nickname Horlicks for the rest of the RIDE. After a homely breakfast at a Rotaractor’s place and some time to freshen up, we headed to Venkatappa Art Gallery to give them a glimpse of Karnataka’s art and history.
Lunch was at Basaveshwara Khanavali along with our DRR. Karthik Chikmath, where they enjoyed an authentic North Karnataka thali, with jolad rotti being a clear favourite. Post lunch, we took a walk and stopped again at NFC and Hari Super Sandwich for quick bites until the delegates jokingly begged us to stop feeding them more. As the sun set, we visited Sankey Tank along with our sister club Rotaract Club of Atria I.T. and their delegates.
In the evening, we attended Culskriti, the Halloween themed potluck hosted by RI District 3191 and Rotaract Club of Mount Carmel College, where we took mushroom biryani and gobi to the potluck. Our delegates got to meet others from across India, play games, and enjoy food. We ended an energetic first day by dropping them back to their stay.
We began Day 2 with breakfast near Cubbon Park before heading inside for a long refreshing walk. Along with Rotaract Club of Atria I.T. and their delegates, we visited Bal Bhavan where everyone enjoyed the toy train, boating, and even the Columbus ride like excited kids.
For lunch, our club hosted a healthy potluck at VVN College which included akki rotti, ragi rotti, ragi ambali and more. After a hearty meal, we visited Bugle Rock Park for some rest and then explored Bull Temple and Dodda Ganapati Temple, finishing with pani puri outside.
To celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava, both clubs visited Vidhana Soudha to admire the stunning lights over there. Dinner at Green Onions and a quick stop at the iconic VV Puram food street rounded off the day perfectly.
We began Day 3 early by picking up the delegates and heading to Ramanagara along with Atria club for the Naada Habba celebrations hosted by our district. A pit stop for hot idli vada and coffee set the tone for the day. The celebrations were filled with dance, laughter, culture, and delicious Karnataka food like ragi mudde and saaru.
We explored Janapada Loka, immersed ourselves in the rich folk heritage, and returned to Bengaluru by evening.
After reaching back, both clubs visited Fab Cafe for one last hangout, sharing conversations, highlights, laughs, and all the little memories we created together. With heavy hearts and full of memories we dropped off our delegates at railway station. Saying goodbye was the hardest part, but the bonds built over these three days will stay with us for life.
Nodi Namma Ooru 2.0 was not just about hosting delegates. It was about creating a home away from home. Through food, culture, experiences, and countless laughs, our clubs formed genuine friendships, strengthened inter district ties, and showcased the true essence of Bengaluru. These three days reflected the heart of Rotaract, which is connection, culture, service, and togetherness. The ride will always remain a special chapter for all of us."
