COMMUNITY SERVICE

"Mahadan 11.0, an international blood donation initiative led by R.I. District 3090, was hosted by the Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar on 28th March in collaboration with Sankalp India Foundation as part of District 3191’s participation in this large-scale cause. The drive was organized near Lalbagh West Gate Metro Station with the objective of supporting thalassemia patients through voluntary blood donation while also creating awareness about the importance of donating blood for life-saving treatments. The initiative aimed to bring together the public and Rotaractors for a meaningful cause that directly impacts lives.
The event began with a briefing session conducted by Sankalp India Foundation for the volunteers, guiding them on how to approach people and communicate the importance of blood donation. Following this, volunteers actively engaged with the public around the metro area, encouraging passersby to participate in the drive. Alongside public donors, Rotaractors also stepped forward to donate blood, showing strong support and commitment to the cause. The process was carried out smoothly with proper coordination, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for all donors.
The drive successfully collected 17 units of blood, which will be used to support thalassemia patients, with the potential to impact approximately 51 lives. The active involvement of both the public and Rotaractors highlighted the collective spirit of service and compassion. The initiative served as a powerful example of how awareness, teamwork, and dedication can come together to create meaningful change.
Overall, Mahadan 11.0 stood as a true reflection of the Rotaract movement, uniting individuals for a greater cause and reinforcing the value of service above self through impactful and life-saving action."
