"On 10th January 2026, the Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar organised Cricket Muqabla 2026 at National College Grounds, Jayanagar. The event brought together Rotaractors from R.I. District 3191, non-Rotaractors, and visually impaired cricket players on a common platform, with the objective of promoting inclusivity, equality, and sportsmanship through the medium of cricket while creating awareness about blind cricket.
The day began with registrations followed by an inauguration ceremony graced by Shri Buse Gowda Sir, Chief Guest, and Shri Lokesh Raju Sir, Guest of Honour, from Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, along with the presence of Rotary and Rotaract dignitaries. Matches commenced simultaneously and progressed through the league and semi-final stages. After a lunch break, visually impaired players were integrated into the finalist teams following a briefing on the format and functioning of blind cricket, offering both participants and spectators a meaningful and engaging experience.
The tournament stood out for its inclusive gameplay, where visually impaired players actively participated alongside abled players using specialised balls and modified wickets unique to blind cricket. The event witnessed enthusiastic audience participation and high energy throughout the day. The winning team was awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000 along with a trophy, while the runners-up received ₹8,000. All visually impaired participants were appreciated with a cash incentive of ₹2,000 each. In addition, individual excellence was recognised with ₹1,000 each awarded to the Highest Run Scorer and the Highest Wicket Taker of the tournament.
