"The Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar, as part of its Twin Club Agreement with the Rotaract Club of Colombo Citadel, R.I. District 3220, jointly organised “Brushes of Hope” along with The Melton Foundation on 9th May at Government School and College, Kengeri Upanagar. The initiative was undertaken with the objective of beautifying the school environment through classroom painting and meaningful murals, creating a more positive and motivating space for students to learn. The project contributed towards the Rotary Area of Focus, “Supporting Education,” by helping improve the overall learning environment within the institution.

Volunteers from both organisations gathered at the school in the morning with paints and all the required materials to begin the activity. The project started with base painting the classrooms, after which the team planned and finalised mural ideas for the walls. Volunteers then divided into groups and worked together to paint and transform three classrooms with colourful artwork and creative designs. Following a quick lunch break, the teams continued with final detailing and touch-ups, successfully completing all three rooms, leaving them bright, refreshed, and visually appealing.

This was also the same school where our club had previously conducted ""Aarogya Mela"" and donated a sanitary pad vending machine. Continuing the support, the club donated 75 sanitary pads during this visit for refilling the machine.

The initiative not only strengthened collaboration between organisations but also created a meaningful impact within the school by improving the learning atmosphere for students. Through the Twin Club Agreement, the project became a wonderful opportunity to work alongside The Melton Foundation while contributing towards education and community development through service and teamwork."
