""Aarogyotsava"" – Hygiene Workshop and Sanitary Pad Donation Drive was successfully conducted by Rotaract Bangalore Jayanagar in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Bangalore Vijayanagar as part of Jayanagar’s community service initiative Aarogya Mela. The initiative aimed to promote awareness on basic hygiene and menstrual health among students, empowering them with essential knowledge required for maintaining personal hygiene and overall well-being. The project focused on creating a safe and informative space where young students could learn about hygiene practices and the importance of menstrual health with confidence and clarity.
The session was interactive and engaging, with volunteers guiding students through discussions on the significance of maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation in everyday life. Participants actively interacted during the workshop, asking questions and gaining valuable insights that helped break common myths and misconceptions surrounding menstrual health. The awareness session ensured that students understood the importance of self-care, cleanliness, and health practices that contribute to a healthier lifestyle.
As part of the initiative, a sanitary pad donation drive was also carried out to support menstrual hygiene among the students. A total of 60 sanitary pad packets were distributed, with each packet containing 5 pads, amounting to 300 pads in total. This effort ensured that students had access to basic menstrual hygiene necessities while also reinforcing the importance of health, dignity, and awareness.
Overall, Aarogyotsava served as a meaningful initiative that combined awareness with action, creating a positive impact on the students while contributing towards building a healthier and more informed community."
